How to create and maintain a catalog
An updated catalog makes it easier for your customers to interact with your business. It also helps showcase your new products and services.
Add a product or service to your catalog
- Open the WhatsApp Business app > More options > Settings > Business tools > Catalog.
- If creating a new catalog, tap Add new item.
- Tap the plus icon, then Add Images.
- Tap Gallery to upload images from your Photos or Camera to take new images. You can upload up to 10 images.
- Provide a product or service name. You can also provide optional details such as price, description, website link, and product or service code for the uploaded product.
- Tap SAVE.
Control what products or services customers can see
Note: This feature may not be available to you yet.
Hide catalog items
- Open the WhatsApp Business app > More options > Settings > Business tools > Catalog.
- You can hide items individually or in bulk.
- To hide an individual item, tap the item to open the product detail page. Then, tap More options > Hide > HIDE.
- To hide items in bulk, press and hold one of the items you want to hide until the green check mark appears. Then, tap the other items you’d like to hide > Hide > HIDE.
Hidden items will still appear in your catalog manager with over the item image. If you open the product detail page, you’ll also see a note indicating that you’ve hidden this item.
Unhide catalog items
- Open the WhatsApp Business app > More options > Settings > Business tools > Catalog.
- You can unhide items individually or in bulk.
- To unhide a single item, tap the item to open the product detail page. Then, tap More options > Unhide > UNHIDE.
- To unhide items in bulk, press and hold one of the items you want to unhide. Then, tap the other items you’d like to unhide > Unhide > UNHIDE.
Delete a product or service from your catalog
- Open the WhatsApp Business app > tap More options > Settings> Business tools > Catalog.
- Press and hold your finger on the image of the product, or service you wish to delete.
- Tap the Delete icon, then tap YES.
Alternatively, select the image of the product or service you wish to delete. Then, tap More options > Delete > DELETE.
Note:
- Every image uploaded to catalog is subject to a review. The review helps confirm that the image, product or service meets the WhatsApp Commerce Policy.
- If your WhatsApp Business account is linked to a Facebook shop and you’ve turned on WhatsApp as a sales channel, your WhatsApp catalog is replaced by your Facebook shop by default. This won’t delete or change your WhatsApp catalog, but you and your customers won’t see it. You can revert back to your WhatApp catalog at any point by turning off or hiding WhatsApp as a sales channel. Learn how to manage your sales channels in Commerce Manager in this article.
