The Department of Training and Development invites applications from candidates wishing to study for the following program:
• Three year Diploma in Primary Education (Serowe and Tlokweng Colleges of Education)

The spaces are available for the following subjects as indicated below:
• Diploma in Primary Education (DPE)
Trainees for this course are required to take ALL subjects in the Primary School Curriculum and in Addition, select an area of specialization from any one of the following combinations:
1. Mathematics and Science
2. English and Setswana
3. Social Studies and Religious Education
4. Practical subjects: Any two from the following: – Agriculture; Art. Craft and Design; Home Economics; Music; Physical Education.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
DPE
Category I
• Candidates with a minimum of BGCSE or its equivalence with credits in at least three subjects, one of which should be a pass.
• All candidates must have at least a pass in English
Category II
• Candidates whose age range is from 25 to 35 years on the day of registration at the college may be selected on the basis of relevant work experience since they left school and must have credits in at least two subjects and at least a pass in English at BGCSE or its equivalent.
HOW TO APPLY
• Applications should specify name, address, age and gender
• All applications should be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates and transcripts (BGCSE or its equivalence) and Omang for nationals or certified copies of the first 4 pages of passport for international students.
• Application forms are obtainable from the College of the applicant’s choice
• Applications for Diploma in Primary Education (DPE) should be directed to one institution only at the following addresses

NOTE:
• Applicants who do not meet the above requirements will not be considered.
• Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into any of these colleges
• Candidates selected for admission who require government sponsorship should apply to the Department of Tertiary Education Financing after they have received a letter of admission
• Candidates selected for admission will only be registered on production of proof of sponsorship and/or receipt of semester full payment.
• Faxed application shall not be accepted
• Colleges shall ONLY respond to shortlisted candidates.
PLEASE NOTE THAT
• Cut-off points for government sponsorship in 36 for applicants and 31 points for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC)
